Justice. We know it whuwe see it: moral character, admirable, action, decry, honour, integrity. Our purpose flows from these values, and nothing in life is worth achieving if we compromise them. In this era of corruption and cowardice, justice asks: What will you do? What won’t you do? What must you do? Do the right thing, right now. In the third book in his bestselling Stoic Virtues series, Ryan Holiday explores the crucial role that integrity plays in every good life. From pillars of upright living like Ulysses S. Grant and Marcus Aurelius, to the cautionary tales of Napoleon and F. Scott Fitzgerald, this book shows us the power of owning our convictions and acting in accordance with our beliefs – and the perils of an ill-formed conscience.

MY REVIEW

This history book is divided into 3 parts. Part one The Me Personal, in part two The We Sociopolitical, part three The All Is One. Part one in the four virtues, explores how long ago Hercules came to the crossroads. And there’s more about the importance of all the virtues in what happens when you remove it. There are plenty of topics about history, one being with Emperor Hadrian. But my favourite chapter that I really enjoyed reading, was was about a Japanese equestrian Shunzo Kido in 1932 in the summer Olympics in Los Angeles, who gave one of the most remarkable performances in the history of sport. Why was this my favourite chapter, that is because I didn’t know anything about Shunzo Kido until I read this book, and something about sport gave this book a flair of something different in the section of history. For history fans that like reading about history, then I know you will like reading this book.
