MY REVIEW
I can’t believe this is author, Louise Tickle’s first novel. I loved it so much with being a full on roller coaster read, about domestic abuse. I think the reason for Cherry Nagraw, becoming a freelance journalist investigating domestic abuse, is because she saw too much as a young girl, between her mother and father. With her father killing Cherry’s mother and brother, I believe she wanted to help others, in domestic violence situations. I thought the judge was right to rule that her father would never see his daughter again. Who would want to see their father after him killing his wife, the mother of their children, and he killed his only son, and brother. There’s one judge who remembers much more about Cherry’s mother in the courtroom. I particularly liked how Cherry during her job as a journalist for domestic abuse, never took sides, in what happened between two parents that she was helping, her main concern was she wanted what was best for their kids. Cherry hasn’t thought about her father in years after what he did, until one day out of the blue, Cherry’s father wants her to visit him in prison. I’m already looking forward to Louise Tickle’s next book.
