MY REVIEW

It always amazes me how the author Chrissie Sains comes up with amazing ideas for The Jam Factory series. I just loved the incredible imagination of an alien set with in A Spy In The Jam Factory.

Scooter and Fizzbee became best friends as soon as Fizzbee a tiny round orange alien crash landed in the jam factory. Where Fizzbee is so tiny he can sit in the palm of Scooter’s hand. McLays jam factory is a bit weird with unusual jam since Fizbee the alien has arrived. It’s a fact that Fizzbee and Scooter have been making out of this world jam. I know this book is for children, for 9+ but it’s been a real pleasure to read this one, as it’s my favourite book in the series.

I would like to thank Walker Books for sending me a printed paperback of one my favourite authors to read and review.

About author Chrissie Sains

Introducing Chrissie Sains, the children’s author with a wild imagination and a knack for mad-cap adventures! Growing up in Billericay, Essex, Chrissie was always seeking adventure and finding trouble. But her teachers saw the silver lining, describing her as having a “lively imagination,” which led her to become a successful storyteller.

Chrissie’s book, An Alien in the Jam Factory, illustrated by the talented Jenny Taylor, has received heaps of recognition, including being shortlisted for the Alligator’s Mouth award and the Sheffield Children’s Book award. And as if that wasn’t enough, it was also crowned Toppsta Reader’s Favourite of 2021 – take that, Harry Potter!

But wait, there’s more! Chrissie has also co-authored a children’s novel with Cara Mailey called I Got This, which has been shortlisted for The Redbridge Book Awards. The book is inspired by Cara’s experiences living with achondroplasia, and it’s safe to say that the duo have hit the jackpot with this one.

When Chrissie isn’t writing or co-authoring books, she’s busy inspiring young minds to believe in themselves. She’s passionate about inclusion and empathy, which makes her the perfect speaker for schools and festivals.
